After two inshore races sponsored by ALTER MARINE were completed today on Tallinn Bay, three new ORC World Champions have emerged at the 2025 Garmin ORC World Championship. Each had been at the top of their leaderboards for most of the week and have demonstrated their prowess in the mixed format of inshore and offshore racing in conditions that varied from light air to today’s blustery 20-25 knot winds.

The 2025 ORC World Championship awarded three titles following the racing on August 11-16 in Tallinn, Estonia. The new World Champions in Class A is Niklas Zennstrom’s Carkeek Fast 40+ RAN (SWE), Class B was won by Jesper Radich’s XR 41 FORMULA X (DEN), and the Class C title went to Patrik Forsgren’s modified First 36.7 GARMIN TEAM PRO4U.

After two final coastal races held in the Bay of Tallinn, the three new ORC World Champions were crowned. Each team was at the top of the leaderboard for most of the week, demonstrating their skills in a mixed format of inshore and offshore racing in conditions ranging from light winds to a sporty 20 to 25 knots on the final day.

Team Pro4u med skepparen Patrik Forsgren tog ett VM-guld i havskappsegling ORC klass C när VM avgjordes i Tallin på lördagen. Efter totalt åtta delseglingar, sex på bana och två havskappseglingar, var VM-guldet säkrat. Niklas Zennströms RAN tog guld i klass A (se videointervju med Niklas längst ner).

The new Danish development does what it is supposed to do: win. The boat finished on the podium in its group in the opening long-distance race.

The 2025 ORC World Championship has attracted 65 yachts to vie for three titles on August 11-16 in Tallinn, Estonia. Ranging in length from 28 to 47 feet and represent nine nations from throughout Europe, the racing program has two offshore races and up to six inshore windward/leeward races.

The Garmin ORC World Championship 2025 is officially underway in Tallinn, Estonia, with a powerful and international fleet lining up to compete for offshore sailing’s most prestigious title. Sunday will bring a practice race before the long offshore race will open the World Championship on Monday.

65 teams from nine nations are taking part in the ORC World Championship in three classes. The strong Group B, where the new XR 41s will start, will be particularly exciting.

Pühapäeva õhtul süttis Pirital Tallinna Olümpiapurjespordikeskuse lipuväljakul olümpiatuli, andes stardipaugu 8.–16. augustini toimuvatele Garmin ORC avamerepurjetamise maailmameistrivõistlustele. Nädalapikkune purjetamise tippsündmus toob Tallinna vetesse 65 jahti ja pea 600 purjetajat Eestist, Lätist, Leedust, Soomest, Rootsist, Taanist, Saksamaalt, Poolast ja Küproselt, kuid jahtidel on esindatud märksa rohkem rahvuseid.​

11. augustil avati Tallinna Olümpiapurjespordikeskuses pidulikult 8.-16. augustini toimuvad Garmin ORC avamerepurjetamise maailmameistrivõistlused. Tseremoonia üheks sümboolsemaks hetkeks oli olümpiatule süütamine, mille au anti Eesti Purjetamise Liidu „Noored Talendid Olümpiale“ projekti noortele purjetajatele Romi Safinile, Emma Viktoria Millendile ja Aksel Haavale.
