Tallinna lahel lõppesid laupäeval 8.-16. augustini peetud 2025 Garmin ORC avamerepurjetamise maailmameistrivõistlused, kus osales kokku 65 jahti 9 riigist. Tiitlid jagati kolmes klassis. Eesti purjetajad pälvisid koduvetel kaks poodiumikohta: Mati Sepa juhitud CLEAN ENERGY (Eco 44) võitis A-klassis pronksi ja Aivar Tuulberg koos meeskonnaga jahil KATARIINA II (Arcona 340) sai pärjatud C-klassi hõbemedalitega.

After a week of demanding races on both offshore and inshore courses, the new ORC World Champions were crowned today in Tallinn. Changing weather conditions throughout the week — from light winds to strong breezes exceeding 25 knots on the final day — put crews to the ultimate test of skill, endurance, and tactics.

Today’s return to racing at the 2025 Garmin ORC World Championship was on the Short offshore race powered by PANTAENIUS, featuring close racing in all three classes on courses of 47.4 miles for Class A, 41.8 miles for Class B and 33.6 miles for Class C. Wind conditions were quite varied, from as low as 8 knots to as high as 20 knots, and shifty enough to challenge the fleet for close tactical racing throughout the 5-6 hour durations of each race in each class.

Day Four of the Garmin ORC World Championship 2025 in Tallinn, Estonia, powered by A. Le Coq, began under beautiful sunshine — but with the Bay of Tallinn as flat as a mirror.

Day 3 of the Garmin ORC World Championship 2025 featured inshore racing powered by Amserv Toyota, and the results after four races are starting to identify some clear leaders in each class.

After their start yesterday at 1000 local time the 64 teams entered in the Long offshore race powered by Piletilevi | PLG a wave of finishers from all three classes started arriving together about 1200 local time at the finish line in this first race of the 2025 Garmin ORC World Championship.

Pühapäeva õhtul süttis Pirital Tallinna Olümpiapurjespordikeskuse lipuväljakul olümpiatuli, andes stardipaugu 8.–16. augustini toimuvatele Garmin ORC avamerepurjetamise maailmameistrivõistlustele. Nädalapikkune purjetamise tippsündmus toob Tallinna vetesse 65 jahti ja pea 600 purjetajat Eestist, Lätist, Leedust, Soomest, Rootsist, Taanist, Saksamaalt, Poolast ja Küproselt, kuid jahtidel on esindatud märksa rohkem rahvuseid.
